SOUTH BEND — A
low-cost carrier scheduled
to fly from here to the New
York City area starting July
13 has delayed those flights
by one month.
JetAmerica said Thursday
that problems at
Newark Liberty International
Airport will delay the
start of its service until Aug. 14.
While the recession is eating
away at almost every industry,
at least one is seeing a surge in
business — zoos.
And the Potawatomi Zoo is
no exception.
Potawatomi Zoo director Terry
DeRosa said from 2004 to 2008,
the zoo averaged about 60,000
visitors from January to May.
This year, 88,585 people went to
the zoo in the first five months.
